1. We make the dough from the listed ingredients by hand and let it rest for about 10 minutes.

2. In the meantime, prepare the filling. Peel the apples, cut them into slices, put them in a saucepan with sugar and simmer for 20 minutes. Let the filling cool.

3. Divide the remaining dough into halves and roll out on baking paper. Layer the cooled filling in the middle of the dough, sprinkle with nuts and cinnamon sugar. Fold the side edges so that the filling does not leak out. Fold the two halves of the dough in the middle to the filling, press together with the baking paper and store so that the joint is at the bottom.

4. Place the dough on a baking sheet with baking paper, brush with a beaten egg and sprinkle with chopped nuts.

5. Bake for 40 minutes at a temperature of 180°C. Sprinkle the baked strudel with powdered sugar and a little vanilla. Let cool and cut on a plate.
