
Poppy seed slices with vanilla cream and caramel nuts
For the dough:
- 5 eggs
- 200 g granulated sugar
- 150 g plain flour
- 150 g whole poppy seeds
- 1 package of Liana baking powder
For the cream:
- 400 ml milk
- 1 pack of Liana Golden Cream
- 3 packs of Liana vanilla sugar
- 125g butter
- 200g mascarpone
For the caramelized nuts:
- walnuts
- 3 tbsp granulated sugar
- 30 g butter
- 90 ml of whipped cream
- Beat the eggs with the sugar until thick.
- By hand, mix the flour mixed with baking powder and poppy seeds.
- Pour the dough onto a large baking sheet and bake at 180 degrees for about 20 minutes.
- After baking, let cool and cut in half.
- Make a pudding from milk, vanilla sugar and Golden Cream and let it cool.
- Beat the butter and gradually add the pudding.
- Finally, whisk in the mascarpone.
- Spread the cream on the dough, cover with the second part of the dough and spread a thin layer of the remaining cream on top.
- Heat the sugar to caramel, add the butter, let it melt and pour in the cream.
- We mix until everything is well combined.
- Finally, add the chopped nuts.
- After cooling, sprinkle them on top of the cake.
